Sierra Lodestar
is a weekly entertainment and recreation magazine that reaches
as many as 50,000 readers in California’s Mother Lode. The
team of writers, editors and graphic artists responsible for
crafting the first Lodestar in March 2009 continue to fill
each issue with well-written columns and feature articles that
celebrate what is unique about the western slope of the
central Sierra; its physical beauty, culture, lifestyle,
history and varied recreation and entertainment choices.
An annual "Best
of the Mother Lode" issue tallies the votes of Sierra Lodestar
readers for their favorite events, places, services, stores,
restaurants, lodging and other entertainment and recreation
options in each of the Mother Lode counties. Other special
sections throughout the year provide coverage of county fairs
and important holidays.
Copies of each issue of Sierra
Lodestar are available free of charge through a system of more
than 500 outdoor and indoor racks located at high traffic
areas and business premises throughout the Mother Lode. In
November 2011, the area of distribution was expanded to
include the cities of Oakdale and Escalon, which together form
the southern gateway to the Mother Lode.
Sometime in 2012, a separate website
for Sierra Lodestar will appear at this domain. Until then, a
complete e-edition of each Sierra Lodestar can be read online
at the website of its sister publication, the Calaveras
Enterprise. That website,
www.calaverasenterprise.com
also contains additional information to help you locate print
copies of Sierra Lodestar, submit comments or calendar items,
and obtain advice on the advertising options it offers.
