Sierra Lodestar is the Mother Lode’s most comprehensive weekly entertainment publication, covering Tuolumne, Amador and Calavers counties to a tee. A stellar team of writers has been assembled to bring you timely information on interesting places to go and what to see in the tri-county area, including entertainment, events, theater, recreation, food and wine with a splash of history.

Why start a new publication now?

The timing of this publication rings true in these difficult economic times – now, more than ever, people need relaxation and fun; and now, more than ever, businesses need a truly regional vehicle to get their message out.

Sierra Lodestar is produced by Calaveras First Company Inc., P.O. Box 1197, San Andreas, CA  95249, owned and published by Ralph Alldredge.

Why “Sierra Lodestar?”
“Lode” is a term to describe the system of veins rich in gold or silver that ran through the western slope of the Sierra. The longest of these systems ran for about 60 miles from Amador, through Calaveras and into Tuolumne County. The term “Lodestar” refers to a beacon, which reveals points of interest with its light. The name expresses the goal of this publication, which is to highlight all of the things that make the three-county Mother Lode area such an exciting and rewarding place to live and visit. We hope you enjoy both the Sierra Mother Lode and its Lodestar.
